It's in the Mail...

There has been a lot of talk lately about the woes of the U.S. Postal Service ~ there is even a possibility that the post office will stop delivering to some houses, which seems sad to me. While I am definitely a technology lover and appreciate the ease with which we can communicate these days, an e-mail or text or Facebook message still doesn’t provide the same thrill as a letter from my grandma or a package sent via air mail by my brother.
I was thinking about all of that when I sat down to design one day here recently and came up with this new fabric pattern, It’s in the Mail. It’s sort of my homage to the romance of the postal service and the good ole days of snail mail.
I feel like this would make some absolutely adorable pillows, so I may have to add that project to my list. What do you think?

We live in a neighborhood that has mail delivered right to our front porch. Very nice, especially in winter. I'm with you in enjoying modern technology but thrilled to find a handwritten letter in the mailbox. The fabric would make terrific pillows.

Best,
Bonnie

I think that you are a creative genius! That's a lovely design, and I can "see" it in many more things than just pillows.

Happy Blue Monday, Eileen.

I hate to see it coming, but it will. Technology is taking over. We are losing all personal touch. I have always loved going to the mail box and still do. I have one like the rural routes have on the street.

For those of us who grew up watching the mailman walk down the street, I think it would be a great honor to pay homage in that way.

In case you missed it...
