A cheerful rocking chair makeover for Creative Weekends #5...

Happy summer, everyone, and welcome to Creative Weekends!
This week I thought I would share the rocking chair makeover I just did. This old rocking chair, which sits on our porch, was desperately in need of a new coat of paint. It had been years since that whitewash stain was applied and boy did it show. I had some of the paint left over from our front door makeover, so I decided to use it to freshen up this rocking chair. It’s such a cheery yellow ~ I just love it.
Here’s what it looked like before:

As I said, it really needed sprucing up. It looked old and dirty, no matter how much scrubbing I did. And now, with a fresh coat of paint:

Doesn’t it look so much better? It’s a wonderful pop of color on the porch, which is currently undergoing some changes. The ceiling is being repaired, a broken window replaced and a new ceiling fan is being put in. And the sisal rug, which is beyond cleaning, is on its way out the door. I have a new rug to put in its place that is going to look fab with the porch and the rest of the house, and especially with that yellow rocking chair. I’m so excited that it will all come together soon.

Wishing all of you a lovely summer weekend...

Is it okay to sip a gin and tonic while sitting in that chair? Would make for a great weekend!
