There to stay?
It’s funny how little changes can make a huge difference in how a room feels, isn’t it? I was sorting through some photos the other day and came across the photo directly below. It was a photo I took last year during my year-long redecorating project, when I thought my living room was done. Or at least 99 percent there.
And then earlier this year, I fell in love with the fabulous yellow suzani chair above, as some of you who read my other blog may remember. After much hemming and hawing, I decided I had to have it and put it in the living room, next to my fab floor lamp.

Now when I look at the photo above, I am struck by how empty the space feels compared to the photos below. All I did was add the chair and close one of the French doors to the dining room to lengthen the wall so it didn’t look like the chair was sitting in the doorway. Because the door is practically all glass, you can still see the dining room clearly and all the light passes through.
Of course, closing that one door also means the doorway is now just a regular doorway instead of a large pass-through ~ and sometimes that prompts me to think maybe I should move the chair. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who sometimes second-guesses herself.) But after seeing the “before” photo, I’m pretty sure the chair is there to stay.

I really like your chair where you placed it! It's perfect!
Great choice in my opinion.

Personally, I really like the look of the chair there with the door behind it. I think it looks very cozy and I adore french doors anyway. Thanks for sharing at my HOME and enjoy the long weekend.

Love the color mixes...silvery tones, whites, blacks. Neat!
