Art deco inspiration...

Isn't this a fabulous living room? I have no idea where I came across the photo above, but I absolutely love it. I think I'm going to take inspiration for my next living room from this. I love the lines and the simplicity and the soft gray with pops of pink.
My current living room is below, and while the two matching chairs in front of the big window and the sofa are mid-century rather than deco, the furniture arrangement would still work. And since I just bought my furniture and love it, I doubt I'll be replacing it any time soon.
But if I ever have a smaller living room, I think this is the way I'm going. I would have to hunt down some fab mirrors (aren't they gorgeous?) and an old metal and glass coffee table and a pair of lamps, but that would be fun. I have the matching round side table to the one between my two chairs, so I would use those on either side of the sofa. Since my chairs are straight rather than round, I think the round tables would work ~ sort of opposite the lines in the photo. And I would definitely go with soft gray walls and even the creamy curtains and just have strong pops of pink on the sofa.
Of course, first I would need to move before I did all of this, but still ~ it's fun to imagine.

I can totally see the similarities in taste between your current living room and the one you showcased. Both are lovely. I like yours better because I like space! :)
Hi Eileen,
Yes, it's fun to have a vision. I have had pink in my living room for years and I think I need a change. My living room is small and I would like a bigger room. Wanna change houses? ;) Your living room looks cozy with the sofa facing your fireplace. Thank you for sharing at my HOME and have a beautiful Easter weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

And, it is all anchored by that lovely area rug. Playing around with furniture placement and design is fun. I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy
