Tulips in the late afternoon light...

This lamp, which you see pop up again and again in my photos, sits on a little table in the front room of my house and often finds itself in the company of whatever flowers are in season ~ tulips here of late. The way the light comes in through the blinds in the afternoon is almost ethereal some days. I snapped this photo earlier in the week, as the afternoon light was nearing its end for the day. The little room, which used to be a porch but was enclosed years ago, is all windows above the chair rail, with the exception of the front door. It's a great place to watch the world go by or sit in the papasan chair and read the afternoon away while the sun keeps you nice and toasty. In the summer, there is usually a nice breeze blowing in off the ocean. I always call it the front room to others, but in my mind it's the reading porch.
